HIT THE BRICKS!

No, we don’t want you to leave or to quit your job. In Unboring lingo, it’s time to stock your fridge with bricks of butter. But not just any butter—load up on golden gorgeous hunks of butter. The kind that would’ve won that Cadillac Eldorado in a butter contest.


Each month this year, we will highlight unique and premium butters in our Butter of the Month blog post. The goal is to help you find your perfect butter mate and there are a LOT of butter brands to choose from.


When it comes to butter, we don’t mess around. We use only the USDA’s highest graded butter in our recipe. High quality butter is critical to our Butter Baking process and makes our granola taste far superior to other granola brands in flavor and texture.


The purpose of this post is to give you the rationale behind our thought process. You could really get in the weeds trying to slice and dice butter every which way. Salted vs Unsalted? Regular vs Whipped? Regular butterfat vs high butterfat? You get the picture.


So how did we decide what butters to feature? Well, we want this info to be practical so we used the following criteria to select which butters to focus on:

1) Salted Butters (most folks use butter for spreading, baking, and cooking whereas unsalted tends to be preferred by baking aficionados and chefs)

2) Brick/Sticks Format (bricks and sticks are the most common formats)

3) Commonly stocked/distributed for sale (we want this blog to be actionable)


We put this methodology to work and discovered some exciting butters to highlight. We’ll post our first Butter of the Month February 1st so be sure to check it out. Time to hit the bricks pal!
